How Far You Have Gone.

You where taken away,

For telling the hard truth,

I had to pay,

Like the outspoken youth.

Standing against racism,

Should be commended,

You can’t take criticism,

And now you are offended?

Cut me out for my opinion,

Show us your teeth,

In your backwards dominion,

Nothing is hidden underneath.

You can punish me,

But you’ve used her as a pawn,

You can not see,

How far you have gone.

Bitter and broken,

Your hateful deeds,

A vicious token,

Of rotting weeds.

A bit longer today, but I had a lot to say on this subject.

It’s been almost a year since I saw my niece, I pointed out something racist my brother had said, and I got shunned.

After a few weeks when he and my sister in law realised my niece was still in contact with me, they cut me off.

No more contact, I had thoughts of ending my life because of this, and will never speak to my brother or sister in law again.

I have not been able to talk about this since, but I think I made the right decision.

It’s been hard, has caused upset with my parents, I’ve been guilted but I will not budge.

I now have no brother, and if anyone in my life cannot understand why I can say this, then they don’t belong in my life either.

Thank you for sticking with me as I explain why and as always thanks for reading.

Emma.
