Another day trapped inside,
This year feels like a century,
Death visits as we try to hide,
Living in our penitentiary.
Some people don’t understand,
“It’s all a hoax!” They proclaim,
The Horned God takes them by the hand,
As they wonder who is to blame.
Lucky ones survive with pain,
Thankful to take short breaths,
Lungs recover from a Hurricane,
As they watch other deaths.
Survivors know it’s not a joke,
How close we came to the end,
Pitchforks brandished by townsfolk,
Children playing pretend.
As always, thank you so much for reading.
Powerful poetic description of our times!! Bravo!
