The frost covers my soul,
The blanket makes me feel whole,
As if I can start anew,
Like there is really nothing I can’t do.
The chill breath hits the air,
As I watch from the comfort of an armchair,
The world has a fresh slate,
As we go outside and ice skate.
It is as if I can breathe again,
As the hills protect me in the glen,
I feel like the girl I once was,
She could take on any cause.
I am ready for a fresh start,
The new item on an a la carte,
To take on the world again,
But this time I’ll use my pen.
